Under the Resolution No. 01, the Government plans to continue pursuing the dual goal of containing Covid-19 and fostering economic recovery, according to Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung at a press conference on Monday.

Improvement of the quality of institutional building will remain a central task, said Dung, adding that the Government will focus on reviewing and timely correcting shortcomings of mechanisms and regulations, particularly those related on tax, land, natural resources and environment, construction, trade and market management in order to utilize all resources for national development.

Digital transformation will be stepped up by introducing a more comprehensive legal framework on new business models and provision of online public services, adopting pilot policies on sharing economy, night-time economy and smart urban development.

The Government will accelerate the development of e-Government towards digital Government, digital economy and digital society, said Dung.

It will also lay more emphasis on sustainable development and active response to climate change, he added.

Meanwhile, Resolution No. 02 was designed solely for further improvement of the country’s business environment and national competitiveness.

Minister-Chairman Dung stressed that improving business environment and national competitiveness is a must to ensure Viet Nam will not be left behind.
