Gov’t sets seven key tasks

VGP – On behalf of the Government, Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has presented a report on socio-economic development in 2013 and the implementation of set tasks in early 2014 at the 7th session of the 13th National Assembly.

According to Mr. Phuc, the Government has set forth seven key tasks on (1) macro-economic stabilization, (2) removal of business difficulties, growth, improved business environment, (3) economic restructuring and transformation of growth model, (4) cultural and social development, (5) management of resources, environmental protection and response to climate change, (6) administrative reform, anti-corruption and anti-wastefulness, and (7) security, social order, foreign diplomacy and international cooperation.  

The Government has decided to regulate monetary policies in s flexible manner in a close combination with fiscal policies and others to stabilize the macro-economy and ensure reasonable growth rates. 

Financial disciplines will be strengthened to prevent loss of revenue and tax evasion. 

The Government has also declared to speed up progress of site clearance and capital disbursement of fundamental construction projects in favour of important and pressing ones in 2014. Policies on land, finance, fee,and concession will be amended and supplemented with a view to raising investment efficiency.

A series of measures to extricate difficulties for enterprises, improve business environment, raise competitiveness and consolidate confidence of society, people and businesses will be implemented effectively. 

The Government will focus on resolving bad debts, bettering businesses’ access to capital; removing obstacles and reforming policies on tax and fees especially in the areas of business registration, credit, tax, customs, real estate and accelerating IT applications.

The Government will continue to realize the Master Plan on Economic Restructuring in association with changing the growth model toward quality, effectiveness and competitiveness during 2013-2020.

Enterprises from different economic components are encouraged to restructure their products, renovate technology, and raise competitiveness. The State-owned enterprises' equitization and capital withdrawal from non-core business lines will be sped up in the 2014-2015 period.  Weak commercial banks will be drastically restructured.

Social welfare policies will be given to disadvantageous people in far-reaching areas, ethnic minority groups, poor districts, and people with merits.  

The Action program on active response to climate change, management of natural resources, environmental protection, the Strategy on Sustainable development and the Strategy on Green Growth will be implemented.  

The 2013 Constitution will be put into reality. Serious and complicated corruption cases will be stringently handled.

A string of peaceful measures will be conducted to safeguard and protect sovereignty and national interests in the East Sea on the basis of international laws./.
