Gov’t supports FWD & Vietcombank cooperation, says DPM

VGP – Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue received Chairman Richard Li of Pacific Century Group (Hong Kong, China) which specializes in finance, technology, communications, telecom, and real estate.

FWD Group was found in 2013 is an insurance company under Pacific Century Group. FWD joined the Vietnamese market since June, 2016.

So far, Vietcombank and FWD is negotiating to sign a contract on insurance distribution.

Deputy PM Hue expressed his impression of FWD’s operation in Viet Nam, hailing the cooperation between FWD and Vietcombank. He said he is convinced that the cooperation would help FWD broaden its scope of insurance distribution and reach more Vietnamese customer segments.

The host leader took the occasion to suggest FWD invest in innovative start-up in Viet Nam.

Earlier, Deputy PM Hue hosted a reception for Chairman of the China Taiping Insurance Group Luo Xi.

Mr. Hue said although the Vietnamese insurance market has been growing fast recently, in terms of both life and non-life insurance, there remains huge potential as this is a market of 100 million people. 

The host leader proposed the group early submit its investment dossier to the Ministry of Finance, adding that this ministry will handle related procedures within its jurisdiction./.
