Grand ceremony to mark national reunification day

Former PM Phan Van Khai, Minister of National Defense Phung Quang Thanh, HCMC Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam were among participants attending the event.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan reviewed the immortal lesson and strategic importance of the military offensive and uprising of the people of South Viet Nam which led to the Great Spring Victory in 1975.

The victory of the resistance war against US aggression as a convergence of various factors, such as the participation of the entire nation in a just war and the sound and creative revolutionary guidelines of the Party. 

Viet Nam combined the strengths of the nation in that era, and enhanced international solidarity to create the strongest possible force to defeat the foreign invaders.

It is the victory of trust and justice, the results of long and hard struggle with great sacrifice of people across the country./.
