December 30, 2008 1:12 PM GMT+7

In 2008, the city has made some significant achievements in four areas: institutional work; personnel work; public finance; and application of “one-stop shop” mechanism,

Administrative reforms are among the City's top priorities in 2009

according to the Municipal People's Committee.

Administrative reforms have significantly helped to boost socio-economic development and maintain political stability in the city.

Information technology (IT) application was also intensified at grassroots levels to meet the criteria of the standard management system ISO 9001-2000.

The City has also organized televised talk shows and online dialogues to clear up all the business's queries and doubts. Those programs are getting enterprises closer and closer to the City's administrative bodies.

Hồ Chí Minh City targets to give priority to administrative reforms, particularly to revise legal documents and administrative procedures.

It also vows to step up the implementation of the Project on administrative reforms funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP); rearrange its apparatus; improve personnel quality; speed up decentralization of the administrative works to the City's grassroots levels; and apply IT in management works.
