The Deputy PM asserted that the Viet Nam-RoK strategic partnership has made great strides in the fields of economics, diplomacy, politics, science-technology and culture-education.

More than 100,000 Vietnamese living in the RoK and the same number of Koreans in Viet Nam have connected the two sides’ bonds, he confirmed.

Two-way trade value between the twin cities of Ho Chi Minh City and Busan reached US$ 2.2 billion.

The Deputy PM suggested the two sides strengthen cooperation in the environment and climate change such as training human resources, improving forecasting capacity and encouraging businesses in Busan to invest in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas.

Mayor Hur Nam Sik said he expected that the Vietnamese leader’s working visit will accelerate the two nations’ relations in all fields.

He stated that he will seek measures to assist Overseas Vietnamese in the RoK.

The same day, Deputy PM Phuc met with the Vietnamese Honorary Consul General in Busan Gyeongnam Park Soo-kwan, wrapping up his visit to the RoK.
