HCMC announces 10 outstanding events in 2020
VGP - The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has announced 10 outstanding events in the southern metropolis this year.

1. HCMC successfully organised Party Congresses at all levels and the 11th HCMC Party Congress.
2. The National Assembly adopted a Resolution on the organisation of urban government and the establishment of Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City.
3. HCMC successfully contained the COVID-19 pandemic and carried out measures to support businesses hit by COVID-19.
4. The city took the lead in digital transformation and promoted the construction of a “smart city”.
5. Many key traffic works were completed, urban traffic has gradually improved.
6. Strengthening the regional linkage in tourism development with 13 localities in the Mekong Delta region, eight northwestern provinces, localities in Southeastern region, the Central Key Economic Region, and Northeastern region.
7. The armed forces made an important contribution to maintaining security, politics and social order and safety throughout the city.
8. The country's economic locomotive affirmed its role and responsibility as a “City of gratitude for the sake of the whole country”.
9. The city launched the campaign, “HCMC residents do not litter in roads and canals for a clean city and flooding reduction”
10. Efforts were made to successfully implement the city’s theme in 2020, the “Year of promoting cultural activities and building a civilised urban lifestyle”.
