Thanks to prompt adjustments in school and working hours in Hà Nội, traffic in the capital is being improved with traffic density and traffic jams in rush hours reduced.

The capital has proposed nine main missions for the year 2012 pertaining to management and organization works, propaganda, traffic organization and management, public transport development, reduction in individual vehicles, improvement of training, test and control quality for drivers, investment in crucial traffic projects, enhancement of the State managerial capacity and mobilization of all investment resources.

Hà Nội puts the reduction of traffic jams and accidents as its top priority, said Chairman of the Hà Nội People's Committee Nguyễn Thế Thảo.

Besides, the capital will actively realize long-term solutions such as addressing the overpopulation isue in the center area, moving hospitals and universities to suburbs and lowering the pressure for urban infrastructure, he added.
