HN sees 1.45% CPI increase in Feb.

VGP – Hà Nội’s consumer price index (CPI) in February rose 1.45% against last month, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.64%.

Among 11 commodity groups, only post and telecom services remained unchanged, with rises in prices of housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction material group (2.79%) and the group of restaurant and restaurant services (2.32%).

The CPI rise was due to increases in prices of housing, electricity, water, fuel, construction material and restaurant services, the price hike of gas from February 1 and the demand for foods after the traditional New Year festival.

The price for pure gold went up 0.34% in comparison with January, but down 9.37% over the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the price of the US dollar decreased 0.12% in comparison with the previous month and 1.06% against the same period of 2011./.
