November 15, 2007 7:10 AM GMT+7

The US $36 million ship, named Vinashin Dragon, is capable of accommodating up to 1,730 containers.

The ship, 184.1m long and 25.3m wide, is equipped with modern engines imported from Europe and was built under the supervision of Germany’s GL experts.

Construction of the ship is scheduled to be completed at the end of the first quarter of 2008.

Vinashin Dragon is the first of its kind to be built under a contract of five such vessels between the Hạ Long Shipyard and the Việt Nam National Shipping Lines (Vinaline).
