Hà Nội, HCMC exempt Lao nationals from civil status fees
VGP – The administrations of Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City just decided to grant civil status fee exemptions to Lao immigrants to Việt Nam who have been licensed to reside here before January 01, 2009 and want to apply for Vietnamese citizenship.
Under the decisions, no fee will be paid for:
- Civil status registration at communal level: adoption of children; recognition of parents and children; issuance of copies of civil status papers; confirmation of marital status; confirmation of civil status papers;
- Civil status registration at district level: re-issuance of the original birth certificate; re-issuance of copies of civil status papers; changing/correcting civil status for people from 14 years old up; re-identification of ethnicity and gender.
- Civil status registration at provincial level: wedding registration; adoption of children; recognition of illegitimate children; issuance of copies of civil status papers; confirmation of civil status papers; re-issuance of the original birth certificate.
