Hà Nội expects to welcome 300 new FDI projects this year

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tứ, Vice Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, said that the city plans to grant 260 new investment licenses to lure US $1.8-2.7 billion.

Other 40 ongoing projects will be added with US $0.2-0.3 billion.

Hà Nội vows to speed up administrative reforms in business registration and capital construction in order to lay a transparent, favorable and effective playing field for investors. Socio-technical infrastructure and business environment will be bettered.

Last year, Hà Nội earned a total registered FDI capital of US $5 billion, doubling the 2007 figure.

Some large-scale projects licensed in 2008 include Gtel Mobile (US $1.8 billion), Hà Nội Bio-technology Park (US $250 million), five-star Hoa Sen Hotel (US $250 million), and Dongriwon Development Company (US $219 million).
