On September 25, the People’s Committee of Đống Đa District (Hà Nội), the investor, started the construction of a park at 178 Nguyễn Lương Bằng Street.

The plan of the park at 178 Nguyễn Lương Bằng Street

According to the publicized plan, the land plot for the park is 13,649.7 square meters in area, including 3,778 square meters for roads, 8,336.2 square meters for green areas, and 1,535.5 square meters for flower-gardens. This will become a place for community activities, meeting the demand for entertainment and amusement of local people, especially children and the old aged.

Earlier, on September 19, the authority of Hoàn Kiếm District decided to build a complex of park-library at 42 Nhà Chung Street, Hàng Trống Ward. This cultural work will expand the city’s green area, embellish the downtown and serve people’s relaxation.

Both these projects for public benefit have been greatly supported by people from all walks of life.

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Bích, a Catholic in Nhà Chung Street, happily asserted that the residents of Hàng Trống Ward are all pleased at the construction. “There are a lot of children and students here. So the library-park will be a good place for them to play and read books…”, said Ms. Bích.

According to Mr. Trịnh Mạnh Phương, Chairman of the Hàng Trống Ward People’s Committee, “This is a good project and I hope that it will be put into operation soon”.
