Health Ministry confirms two more COVID-19 deaths, total fatalities rise to 24

VGP - The Ministry of Health has announced two more deaths of COVID-19, bringing the nation’s total fatalities to 24.

They are patients numbered 699 and 575, living in centra city of Da Nang.

Specfically, patient 699 is a 75-year old man in Da Nang's Thanh Khe District. She had a history of chronic kidney failure, hypertension, type-2 diabetes, and heart failure.

He died of pneumonia caused by Covid-19, severe respiratory failure, and septic shock, in a patient with chronic renal failure, hypertension, and type-2 diabetes.

Meanwhile, patient 575 is a 82-year old woman in Da Nang's Hai Chau District, had suffered from meningitis.

The causes of death include pneumonia caused by COVID-19 complications with severe respiratory failure and septic shock in meningitis.

Both of them were treated at Hoa Vang District’s Medical Facility in Da Nang City.

As of early August 16, Viet Nam has confirmed 951 COVID-19 infection cases, 447 of whom were declared clear of the virus and recovered their health, accounting for 46%.
