Health Ministry confirms two more COVID-19 infection cases, total rises to 251

VGP – As of early April 8, the Ministry of Health has confirmed two more COVID-19 infection cases, raising the total number of COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam to 251.

Patient 250 is a 50-year old woman from Ha Loi, Me Linh, Ha Noi, who is the neighbor and had close contact with the previously announced patient numbered 243. 

She has been quarantined and treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi. 

Patient 251 is a 64-year old man residing in Binh Nghia, Binh Luc, Ha Nam Province. Since March 20, he has been treated at the Department of Gastroenterology, Ha Nam General Hospital. This case has been tracked down for the source of infection. 

Among 251 COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam, 156 have been imported cases, making up 62.6% while 92 people were secondary infections. 

As of late April 7, as many as 122 patients have been cleared of the virus.
