Health Ministry tightens vaccination work

The move was made following the deaths of three children after receiving vaccination against B hepatitis in northern Quang Tri Province.

An investigation team from the Ministry of Health has exposed shortcomings in regulation and guideline compliance regarding vaccine management, biological end-products, and the training of vaccination-undertaking staff. 

Localities are requested to consult families and vaccinated people about the benefits and possible risks in the process of vaccination. 

Viet Nam has about 1.5 million newborns per year, who are recommended to be vaccinated against B hepatitis within 24 hours after birth./.
