Health ministry reports 18th Covid-19 death

VGP – Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son confirmed the 18th Covid-19 death in Viet Nam this morning.

The latest death is a 52-year old female resident of Cam Le District in Da Nang known as the country’s current biggest Covid-19 hot spot.

From July 15-31, she was admitted to the Department of Urology, Da Nang Hospital for treatment for her kidney conditions and had her sample tested for Covid-19.

She was confirmed positive and transferred to the Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases on July 31.

One day later, she suffered respiratory failure and shortness of breath was transferred to the Department of Tropical Diseases in Da Nang Hospital.

On August 4, she was sent to Hoa Vang Medical Center as she fell into coma and high fever.

She died at 7:00 pm of August 12 because of severe pneumonia due to Covid-19, end-stage chronic renal failure, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes, said Son./.
