The event was organized on the occasion that marked 100 years of President Hồ  Chí Minh’s departure of the country to seek the salvation path for the nation.

Participants to the seminar included Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, Head of the CPV CC’s Commission for Popularization and Education Đinh Thế Huynh, scientists and researchers.

Addressing the seminar, Mr. Huynh stressed that the date when President Hồ Chí Minh left the country marked the start of a “great, hard, courageous, and creative journey” he made in almost 30 years to find ways for the country’s liberation.

It was also the kick-start of the entire Vietnamese nation’s journey to drive off invaders, liberate the country and build socialism.

The presentations focused on providing deeper insight into President Hồ Chí Minh’s entire salvation trip.

In his speech, former Party General Secretary Lê Khả Phiêu said following the path President Hồ Chí Minh had selected, his thoughts as well as Marxism-Leninism must be the Party’s lodestar.

In the current context, learning and following Hồ Chí Minh’s moral example should begin with most practical and specific acts, he added.

Meanwhile, PM Dũng attributed the great and historic achievements attained by the Việt Nam Communist Party during its 80 year history to revolutionary heroism guided by President Hồ Chí Minh’s thoughts.

The Government chief pointed out the urgent task for the entire political system, people and army that is to devote efforts to contain inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, maintain production, ensure social welfare, and realize the socio-economic development plan for 2011.

In his speech, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Lê Thanh Hải affirmed that HCMC will strive to build a strong city in all aspects, deserving the name of President Hồ Chí Minh it inherited.

All the participants agreed that the date of June 5, 1911 marked a significant milestone in the country’s history and expressed their strong belief that the path President Hồ Chí Minh had chosen will help lead the Vietnamese people to all-around renovation, industrialization and modernization.
