This year, the festival drew the attendance of 1,500 delegates who represent over 4.5 million Vietnamese living overseas.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh highlighted the comprehensive and great contributions of the overseas Vietnamese.

Over the past year, 20 associations of the Vietnamese people living overseas have been formulated in favor of business start up, preservation and development of cultural identity, Vietnamese language teaching and learning.

The Deputy PM affirmed the consistent guidelines of the Party and State which regarded the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part of and important resource of the Vietnamese nation.
