Incoming travellers are to pay for COVID-19 quarantine costs since September

VGP – All arrivals to Viet Nam shall have to pay for COVID-19 quarantine costs since September 1, 2020, according to Notice No. 313/TB-VPCP on conclusion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc after a recent meeting on COVID-19 response.

August 31, 2020 2:13 PM GMT+7

The Ministry of Finance is assigned to coordinate with the Ministry of Health to issue instructions on the mandatory quarantine costs.

At present, COVID-19 treatment fees are covered by the State budget in accordance with Point 2, Article 48 of the Law on Prevention and control of Infectious Diseases. Accordingly, persons suffering from an epidemic disease of class A are entitled to free medical examination and treatment.

The PM also agreed with a proposal of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to facilitate entry of investors from the Republic of Korea on their short business trips to Viet Nam. The list of these investors was submitted by the Korean Embassy in Viet Nam.

The PM also agreed to consider entry requests of other investors.

The Ministry of Transport was asked to work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to immediately to mull over resumption of commercial flights between Viet Nam and Japan, the RoK, and other safe destinations, and report to the PM before August 31.

Viet Nam’s COVID-19 patient tally is now at 1,040, including 695 recovered cases and 33 deaths.
