From January and August, arrivals from Cambodia surged 74.2%, from China, up 53.5%, from Malaysia, up 18.7%, from Japan, up 11.7%.

The eight-month figure can help realize the goal of receiving 5.5 million foreign visitors in 2011, as many big tourism events will be held in the remaining months of the year, including the National Tourism Year in Phú Yên Province, and the International Travel Expo in Hồ Chí Minh City.

The Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism will coordinate with relevant agencies to conduct tourism promotion activities at home and abroad to help achieve the set goal.

Vietnamese travel agencies will participate in international tourism expos, including JATA in Japan, IBT ASIA in Singapore and WTM in England, and expand markets in China, Russia, Denmark…
