Jan.-Nov.: US $9.95 bil. in FDI disbursement

VGP – Việt Nam has disbursed US $950 million of FDI in November, bringing the total figure to US $9.95 million in the first eleven months, up 9.9% year-on-year, according to the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

As of November 20, the total registered FDI reached US $13.3 billion, equivalent to 60% of the same period last year and lower than the year target of US $22-25 billion.

The FIA attributes the downturn of the FDI inflows to the uneven global economic recovery.

In November, 74 new projects were registered with the total capital of US $512 million.

Noticeably, processing and manufacturing industries have lured the biggest amount of the registered FDI capital, US $4.37 billion. Then came distribution of electricity, gas, water, air conditioners (US $2.94 billion) and real estate (US $2.85 billion).

The trend reflected the shift of the FDI inflows, expectedly benefiting industrial production instead of focusing on real estate and accommodation services.

Since the beginning of the year, the Netherlands are the biggest FDI provider for Việt Nam with US $2.32 billion, followed by the Republic of Korea (US $2.28 billion) and the US (US $1.92 billion).

In the first eleven months, the southern province of Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu is the largest FDI recipient with US $2.47 billion. The northern province of Quảng Ninh and Hồ Chí Minh City have attracted US $2.2 billion and Ú $1.83 billion respectively./.
