The plant, to cost some 2 billion yen, will be built on the outskirts of Hồ Chí Minh City, which will turn out about 200,000 tons of feed mixture a year.

The plant will be managed by a joint venture established by the two corporations, to which Sojitz takes a  51% stake and Kyodo Shiryo owns 49%.

The joint venture plans to gradually build more facilities at the plant in a bid to raise the plant’s annual output capacity to 2 million tons by 2020 and make sales of roughly 80 billion yen a year.

In Việt Nam, pork accounts for roughly 70% of all meat sales and the demand is growing. Demand for mixed feed is growing 10% a year.

The Japanese companies plan to use Việt Nam as an export base to other parts of Southeast Asia./.
