The seminar on attracting Japanese SMEs to industrial parks for development of supporting industries in Việt Nam

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Đặng Huy Đông made the call on June 22 in Hà Nội at a seminar to promote Japanese small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to involve in the development of Việt Nam’s auxiliary industry.

The seminar was jointly held the Ministry of Planning and Investment in coordination with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The Vietnamese Government is encouraging the development of SMEs and paying attention to increasing these SMEs’ competitiveness and added values of their products to enable them to join the world’s product supply chains, thus contributing to boosting the local auxiliary industry.

Incentives on land, rental and human resources are given to projects to produce industrial auxiliary products.

Mr. Ryoichi Nakagawwa from the Việt Nam BTD Investment Assistance Center said foreign investment-encouraging policies should pay more attention to auxiliary industry.

Việt Nam should adopt policies on tariff incentives and the development of joint industrial complexes.

To date, Japanese-invested projects in Việt Nam have totally capitalized at US $21.2 billion, including US $18.3 billion in the manufacturing and processing industries.
