Japanese investors keen on VN’s thermal power

VGP – The Draft Decree on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is being finalized and scheduled to be issued in the third quarter of 2014.

July 17, 2014 11:12 AM GMT+7

Deputy Minster of Planning and Investment Dao Quang Thu revealed the information at the second high-level dialogue on PPP on July 16.

The document is expected to deal with crucial issues in the PPP field, provide a complete legal framework for PPP to operate in Viet Nam and make it easier for PPP projects, especially in infrastructure.

Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Hiroshi Watanabe said he hoped to work with Viet Nam’s relevant agencies to speed up the formulation of regulations serving PPP projects in Viet Nam.

At the event, Japanese investors expressed their interest in some thermal power projects in Viet Nam, including the Nghi Son 2 (1,200 MW), Vung Ang 2 (1,200 MW) and Van Phong 1 (1,320 MW).
