Japan’s Cabinet Office helps develop e-Government building in VN

VGP – Japan will advocate and support Viet Nam in sustainable development of e-Government in the upcoming time, said Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga Yoshihide at his meeting with Vietnamese Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung on August 6 in Tokyo, Japan.

At the event, the two sides expressed their delight on the fruitful developments in Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership, high political trust and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations. 

The Vietnamese Government and people congratulate Japanese people on the occasion that Japanese Emperor Naruhito ascends to throne, said Dung, adding that Viet Nam will send a high-ranking delegation to celebrate the official ceremony of the throne of the Emperor in next October this year. 

Currently, Japan continues to be the leading crucial economic partner of Viet Nam as the largest Official Development Assistance (ODA) provider, the second largest investor and the fourth trade partner. 

Dung asserted that his working visit to Japan aims to realize the outcomes of the talks between the Vietnamese and Japanese PMs on July 1, 2019, adding that the Vietnamese Government Office delegation expects to exchange and learn experiences of Japan in administrative reform, e-Government building heading to a digital Government, economy and society. 

During the working visit to Japan, the delegation met President of the Japan-Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance Toshihiro Nikai, Japanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Toshiko Abe, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Shinichi Kitaoka and attended seminars on administrative reform and digital government building. 

A Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) will be inked on August 7 by the Vietnamese Government Office, the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Cabinet Office. 

To enhance the development of Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership in the upcoming time, the Vietnamese Minister suggested the Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary promote the relations between the two offices, effectively implement agreements reached in the G20 Summit and PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to Japan, strengthen high-ranking delegation exchanges and continue supporting Viet Nam to reform and improve the effectiveness of the administrative body and e-Government building. 

For his side, Suga Yoshihide said that Japan will consider the suggestions of the Vietnamese Government Office about the non-refundable aids for the technical packages in e-Government building, adding that Japan hopes to continue its cooperation with Viet Nam in economic development. 

The Japanese Cabinet Office expects to expand cooperation with the Vietnamese Government Office in all fields to consolidate Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.
