Covering more than 3 ha in the Việt Nam-Singapore Industrial Park II (VSIP II), located in the southern province of Bình Dương, the US $25 million factory is scheduled to start operation in October. In its first phase, the factory will employ about 500 workers.

DDK is one of Japan’s leading electronics joint-stock companies, well-known for its hi-tech connection products.

The DDK factory in Bình Dương Province is the Company’s fourth abroad subsidiaries, after the DDK Thailand Ltd. and two others in China, DDK Shanghai Ltd. and the Yonezawa Electric Wire (Guangzhou) Co. Ltd.

By January, Bình Dương attracted 12 new FDI projects with the capital of more than US $49 million and nine projects added with nearly US $10 million.

To date, the province is home to 1,833 projects with the investment capital totaling US $11.148 billion.

Forty countries and territories are investing in Bình Dương, among which the biggest investor is Taiwan, followed by the Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.

The province takes the lead in Việt Nam in terms of FDI disbursement, which reaches 64%.
