Take consistent measures and mobilize all forces for sustainable development and  increased economic efficiency and competitiveness

To improve the country’s economic growth quality at a time when Vietnam has integrated deeper into the world economy, the PM stressed the need to take consistent and drastic measures in all fields, including politics, economy, national defense, public security, and external services. To further speed up the completion of regimes and policies on socialist-orientated market economy; to radically reform administrative procedures; to create an open, transparent and favorable environment for business and investment which can accommodate the country's rapid development, and deeper international economic integration, and match specific national conditions. To perfect and raise efficiency of the State apparatus. To draw up development strategies and policies in conformity with the economic structure and investment structure. To better manage, allocate and use resources for development investment. To bring about the rapid and quality development of education and training as well as science and technology, making them top priorities and the creators of breakthroughs in productivity, quality, effectiveness and competitiveness of products, enterprises and the whole economy.

Drastically act on administrative reform

The PM asserted that it is necessary to speed up administrative reform, especially after Vietnam’s accession to WTO. At present, the Government has been introducing the spirit of administrative reform in the building-up of regimes and policies, especially the issuance of decrees instructing the implementation of laws. At the same time, the Government is directing the tackling of law infringements within its competence, making open and transparent the management of lands, public properties, State-run enterprises, and personnel. The Government is also guiding different sectors and echelons to publicize administrative processes, including the issuance of enterprise license, land and house ownership registration, tax reimbursement and payment. The Government will strictly punish organs and units who harass common people. The PM requested NA deputies to proactively supervise and implement this work.

Determined to deal with corruption and prodigality

About the struggle against corruption and prodigality, the PM informed that all ministries, sectors and localities have set up their own programs and plans to realize the Laws on Anti-corruption and on Anti-prodigality and Thrift Practice. The intermediate duty is to bring these laws into full effect. Leaders of the agencies or localities show themselves as good examples of observing these laws and must take full responsibility for violations of them in their own agencies and localities. The PM suggested that NA strengthen its supervision over this.

It is overwhelmingly felt that in face of each question ranging from macro policies to concrete affairs, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng gave direct answers by going straight to the point with clear analysis or explanations, showing his profound understanding, intelligence and high sense of responsibility. He not only satisfied NA deputies and the people watching him on TV but also inspired them with a common determination to overcome difficulties and sustain the country’s development momentum in the process of international economic integration.
