Key exports, imports in Jan-Aug named

VGP – Phones and accessories took the lead among Viet Nam’s top export items over the recent eight months of 2019, according to the General Statistics Office.

Trade surplus exceeds US$ 3.4 billion in first eight months

As many as 26 items join US$1 billion export club over the recent eight months of 2019, making up 89.5% of the total export value. Five items report the export value exceeding US$10 billion, accounting for 58.7%.

The U.S. maintains the largest exporter of Viet Nam, witnessing a year-on-year increase of 25.3%.

A total number of 33 items have the import value more than US$1 billion over the first eight months of 2019, accounting for 89.1% of the total import value.

The import turnover from China sees a year-on-year increase of 18.2% in eight months. making the nation maitain its status as Viet Nam’s largest importer.
