Kien Giang province placed under social distancing

VGP – Kien Giang is implementing a 17-day social distancing in accordance with the Prime Minister's Directive No. 15/CT-TTg, starting from July 14 to July 30.

The decision to this effect was made by Chairman of the Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee Lam Minh Thanh on July 13. 

As of early July 14, Kien Giang reported nine domestically-transmitted cases. 

Directive 15 requires suspension to social events, bans gatherings of 20 people or more in one place and of 10 people or more outside workplaces, schools and hospitals. People should keep a distance of at least two meters between each other in public places.

Earlier, a series of localities had to impose social distancing rules in line with PM's Directive No. 15 or Directive No. 16 to limit the spread of COVID-19 in community.  

In Dak Nong, social distancing rules has been in place in accordance with the Directive No. 15 in the entire province for 14 days, starting from 12:00 am of July 13 till further notice. 

The entire province of Dong Thap has been put under social distancing under the Directive No. 16 since July 14. 

Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has decided to put Vung Tau City under social distancing in line with the Directive No.16 since 0:00 am of July 14. 

Leaders of the Mekong delta city of Can Tho have decided to impose social distancing under the Directive No. 15 in the entire city for 14 days, starting from July 12.

Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, and some districts and towns of Binh Duong, Long An, Khanh Hoa, and An Giang imposed tough social distancing rules in accordance with the Directive No. 16.  

Provincial and municipal chairpersons were given authority to decide on appropriate social distancing options and other anti-COVID-19 measures.
