Lao Airlines to open direct route to Da Nang

Accordingly, the national air carrier of Laos will operate three flights per week from March 29 on the Da Nang-Vientiane route on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using 70-seater ATR-72 aircraft.

The flight QV318 will depart from Vientiane at 11.10am and land at Da Nang International Airport at 12.50pm.

Meanwhile, the return flight QV319 will take off at 1.50pm from Da Nang, and arrive in Vientiane at 3.30pm.

In the coming time, the Da Nang Department of Tourism will join forces with the Lao Airlines to organise famtrips to conduct surveys on attractions, tourism products and services in both Da Nang and Vientiane.

Tickets for the soon-to-be-operated air route will be available for sale from 5 - 20 March at ticket offices and official booking agents in both Da Nang and Laos.

Deputy director of the city’s tourism department Nguyen Xuan Binh said a series of tourism promotion events will be organised to mark the launch of the new air route, including fam trips, tourism exhibitions, fairs and roadshows in Da Nang, Vientiane and Luang Prabang.

One way tickets for the flight will be sold from US$190 to $392, while promotional fares will start from $25.

It expected to help raise more investment from Da Nang to Laos in the agriculture, mining, trade and tourism sectors.

Da Nang invested $52.3 million in Laos' garment, mine ore, industrial and agricultural sectors, but bilateral trade turnover could reach $2 billion.

In 2019, Cambodia's Angkor Air launched direct flights between Da Nang and Phnom Penh with four flights per week with an aim of promoting tourism links among Laos-Cambodia and Viet Nam in the tourism development campaign: Three Countries – One Destination via border gates in the Central Highlands region./.
