Laos celebrates big diplomatic events with VN

VNGOP – The Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the Party Committee and the authority of Vientiane launched a solemn meeting in the morning of July 17 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Việt Nam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the 45th anniversary of diplomatic tie establishment between the two countries.

Addressing the celebration, General Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee, State President Choummaly Sayasone said that the Việt Nam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty has reflected the two countries' determination in developing the traditional friendship built up by President Hồ Chí Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane. With the Treaty, the two countries have promoted bilateral ties in all fields, expanded their relationship at all echelons.

General Secretary Choummaly Sayasone emphasized that it is a great pride for the Lao Party, Government and people to  maintain and nurture the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Việt Nam, as an invaluable property of the two nations.

Mr. Trương Tấn Sang, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Việt Nam, head of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, confirmed that the Việt Nam-Laos loyal relationship is increasingly cemented and deepened, contributing to the development in each country.

On the same day, the Vietnamese delegation paid courtesy visits to Lao National Assembly Chairman Thoongsing Thammavong and PM Bouasone Bouphavanh.

In the meetings, Vietnamese and Lao leaders expressed their pleasure at the celebration of the two big diplomatic events through various activities. Over the past time, the legislative bodies of the two countries have maintained a close relation. It is expected that the agreements between the two national assemblies will be important foundation to share legislative experience and information, helping solidify the good bilateral relationship. PM Bouasone Bouphavanh confirmed that he and other members of the Lao Government will provide more favorable conditions for Lao and Vietnamese businesses to bring about mutual benefits.
