Largest U.S.-invested project in environment launched in Long An

VGP – The Green Environment Technology Park in Thu Thua in the southern province of Long An has its first phase investment worth US$450 million, becoming the largest U.S.-invested project in the environment in Viet Nam.

The People’s Committees of Long An and Ho Chi Minh City on September 12 granted an investment certificate relating to the Park to the Long An-Viet Nam waste treatment company.

Economic Chief at the U.S. Embassy Nathan Lane highlighted the meaning of the project, which is launched on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties.

Chairman of Long An Province’s People’s Committee Do Huu Lam stressed on the scale and capital of the project among 645 foreign-invested ones in the province.

The project is expected to protect the environment and people’s health as well as create more jobs for local people and contribute to the local socio-economic development.
