Leader extends condolences over air crash in Karelia

VGP – State President Nguyễn Minh Triết on June 21 extended his condolences to his Russian counterpart  D. Medvedev over the recent air crash in Russia’s Karelia Republic.

Russia’s Emergency Ministry said that the accident occurred at 11: 55pm on June 20 (local time) when the Tu-134 airliner with 52 people on board was en route from Moscow to the Karelian capital Petrozavodsk.

It is reported that 44 people died, while 8 others were injured. The survivors, including one child, were rushed to hospital in grave condition.
