Leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

VGP - A delegation of Viet Nam’s top leaders on Saturday paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum on the occasion of the country’s 67th National Day.

The delegation included Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Later on the same day, the leaders laid wreaths and offered incense to fallen heroes and combatants at their monument in the capital city.

Viet Nam gained independence following the glorious victory of August 1945 Revolution which is not only a critical recent historical milestone, but also a great turning point in the country’s thousands of years of national construction and defense.

The spirit of the August Revolution has now been brought to the forefront in the battle against poverty, backwardness and slow development. Viet Nam has made tremendous strides over the past years during its process of national Renovation, creating a driving force to take the nation into a new period of development./.
