Localities post high GDP growth in first half

VGP – Recent meetings on socio-economic development by cities and provinces nationwide have unveiled that many localities had attained a high GDP growth rate in the first half of this year, for example, Thanh Hóa Province with 12.2%, Nghệ An Province with 11.15%, and Yên Bái Province with 10.86%.

Thanh Hóa, which has eyed an economic growth of at least 16.4% in 2011, is accelerating the implementation of Nghi Sơn thermoelectric plant project, Nghi Sơn steel project, Thanh Sơn cement project, Trung Sơn, Hồi Xuân, Bá Thước II hydroelectric plant projects…

Nghệ  An is striving to post a GDP growth rate of 11 - 12% in the second half of this year, collect VND2,000 – 2,500 billion in budget, and create 17,200 new jobs.

For Yên Bái, it plans to record an economic growth of at least 15.52% in the second half of 2011.

Bà  Rịa – Vũng Tàu Province has so far this year seen total realized foreign investment capital of US$520 million, up 15% from the same period last year. Meanwhile, realized local investment capital has reached VND3,900 billion, up 3.7%.
