Localities welcome New Year cheerfully

VGP - Cities and provinces in the whole country held many cultural and art activities on the night of December 31 to welcome the New Year.

In the capital city of Hà Nội, many streets such as Điện Biên Phủ, Đinh Tiên Hoàng and Tràng Thi were more spectacular than usual thanks to the presence of various kind of decorative lights.

At the August Revolution Square, people welcomed the New Year with a countdown party, light shows and performances played by foreign artists.

People also gathered around the Restored Sword Lake to wait for the moment when the New Year comes.

In Hồ Chí Minh City, illuminating streets and roads included Nguyễn Huệ, Lê Lợi, Đồng Khởi and Lê Duẩn which were lit up by millions of colored lights and numerous decorative items.

Many people gathered at the Nhà Rồng Wharf to enjoy the 15-minute fireworks display.

The city’s New Year celebration festival themed “The Year for Youths – The Year for Children” with hundreds of music shows attracted thousands of viewers.

In the central city of Đà Nẵng, many residents welcomed New Year at some resorts, tourism sites and hotels such as Furama Resort, Suối Lương tourism site, Silver Shores, Life Resort, Sandy Beach, Green Plaza, and Bamboo Green.

In Cần Thơ City, thousands of residents and artists were present at the “Greeting New Year” party on the night of December 31, while in Quảng Nam Province, local and visitors enjoyed many special art performances such as “Sắc bùa” singing and lion dances. Hội An ancient town remained silent in the light of sparkling traditional lanterns.
