Management on imports, use of scrap enhanced

VGP – The PM has signed Directive No. 27/CT-TTg on launching some urgent measures to strengthen management on imports and use of scraps as raw materials for production.

September 18, 2018 5:10 PM GMT+7

With the aim of enhancing imports and use of scraps as raw materials for production, effectively realizing measures on trade defense activities and reducing environmental pollution, the PM has asked the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to hold responsible for State management work on environmental protection for imports and use of scraps as raw materials for production.

The Ministry of Finance is tasked to direct custom agencies to mobilize forces for fast customs clearance for scraps imported by organizations and individuals with Certificates of eligibility for environmental protection to be imported as raw materials for production and import quota.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade joins with other ministries and agencies to review, apply and propose measures to suspend temporarily import, re-export, transit or transship of scraps into Viet Nam's territory as well as considers launching trade defense measures in line with the regulations of the World Trade Organization on importing scraps.
