Mau Son planned to become national tourist site

VGP – The Prime Minister has approved tasks on making a master plan for the Mau Son tourist site in the northern border province of Lang Son towards 2040.

Accordingly, Mau Son will be developed into a national tourist with unique cultural, spiritual, and ecology tourism products of the northern midland region and the whole nation.

Trade, service, culture, sports and accommodation functions of the site will be developed, along with social and technical infrastructure system serving tourism activities, scientific research, meeting requirements in tourism development, security-defence, border residential stability, and creating jobs for local labourers.

The plan also aims to preserve and promote the values of natural landscapes, cultural identity and spiritual characteristics of the site, while serving as a foundation for the management of construction and development of the Mau Son national tourist site.

The scale of the plan will cover Cong Son and Mau Son communes of Cao Loc district, Mau Son commune of Loc Binh district, and a part of Bang Khanh, Xuan Man, Dong Buc, Huu Khanh and Yen Khoai communes of Loc Binh district. Total area of the plan is about 14,964ha.

It is forecast that the population of the site is about 12,000-15,000 in 2030 and about 30,000 in 2040. In 2030, the site is expected to welcome about 1 million visitors per year, and the figure is hoped to rise to about 2 million in 2040
