More Vietnamese citizens fly home safe from Japan

VGP - A Viet Nam Airlines flight carrying more than 190 citizens from Japan landed at the Noi Bai International Airport Saturday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is the 65th rescue flight organized since April 10, bringing home about 16,033 Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to Covid-19.

All entrants into Viet Nam shall be subject to 14-day mandatory quarantine to prevent transmission of Covid-19.

As of 6:10 pm on Sunday, Viet Nam confirmed 420 Covid-19 infection cases, including 276 imported ones.

Among the patient tally, 365 have been freed of the virus and the current active cases are being treated at different medical facilities nationwide.

The country had gone 99 consecutive days without community-transmitted case of Covid-19 before patient 416 in Da Nang City was confirmed positve for the virus on July 25.

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak in Da Nang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered the city to conduct drastic contact tracing and large-scale Covid-19 testing to prevent transmission of the virus to the community.

He also tasked the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security and Foreign Affairs to continue collaboration in strictly controlling all entrants in a bid to prevent transission of Covid-19.

The Government chief prompt investigation and strict punishment of illegal entrants into the country, especially in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province.

In a move contain the outbreak, the central city’s authories on Sunday imposed social distancing measures, including mask wearing, handwashing, safe distance keeping, and temporary suspension of non-essential services.

The municipal police force has inspected residential areas where illegal immigrants may take shelter and place them under quarantine. Those who try to bring foreigners to Viet Nam illegally shall be strictly fined as ordered by the Government./.
