More entrants enjoy seven-day quarantine period
VGP – Two Viet Nam Airlines flights carrying 345 Vietnamese from the U.S. arrived at the Van Don International Airport on Sunday.
All the passengers are fully vaccinated and will be quarantined for seven days instead of 14 days as part of the country’s pilot ‘vaccine passport’ policy.
Under the policy, eligible entrants aged 18 and over are also required to show proof of negative RT-PCR/RT-LAMP COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours before departure.
After undergoing the mandatory quarantine period, they shall have to isolate at home for another seven days.
The first flight carrying 297 Vietnamese passengers from Japan landed at the airport on September 4, marking the launch of the pilot policy.
On September 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s proposal to reopen Phu Quoc island of Kien Giang province to foreign tourists on a pilot basis.
The Government chief tasked the provincial People’s Committee of Kien Giang to coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies to develop a specific and feasible plan to implement the pilot policy.
Foreign tourists who wish to visit the island shall be required to get two vaccine jabs, with the second one taken at least 14 days and not more than 12 months before the date of entry.
All international tourists must tested negative for COVID-19 via the PCR method within 72 hours before their departure./.
