More food aid, commodities for flood-hit Central localities

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has tasked the Ministry of Finance to provide nearly 3,600 tons of rice from the national reserve to support flood victims in the Central localities of Quang Binh and Quang Ngai.

Accordingly, Quang Binh Province and Quang Ngai Province will receive 2,000 tons and nearly 1,600 tons of rice, respectively.

The People’s Committees of these two localities were asked to receive and allocate the aid to accurate beneficiaries.

The PM also decided to supply four rescue vehicles, eight field ambulances, 10  logistics vehicles, and 34 light towers from the national reserve for public security force in charge of search and rescue work in the central region.

Last month, the Government had decided to allocate VND 750 billion (nearly US$32 million) sourced from State budget for central provinces to help overcome the consequences caused by devastating storms and flooding./.
