More incentives for foreign experts in ODA projects

VGP – The Government chief yesterday issued a decision on foreign experts working in ODA projects in Việt Nam. Accordingly, those specialists and their relatives will be ensured by the State for equal treatment, properties and legal income during their stay in Việt Nam.

The Government would offer them with preferential policies on visa, foreign exchanges, residence registration, travel, driving license, vehicle registration and so on.

Specifically, in line with suggestions of ODA project management units, foreign experts and their relatives will get the Vietnamese visa eligible to enter Việt Nam several times.

Those people can bring with them foreign currencies in Việt Nam’s territories, change into foreign currencies their incomes originating from wages, bonus, or other legal earnings from ODA projects and take out of Việt Nam.       

Foreign experts obtaining permission to reside in Việt Nam in less than 183 days will enjoy tax exemption when purchasing utensils for daily activities. 

The Government will not impose income tax on wages, bonus and legal earnings of foreign experts working in ODA projects in Việt Nam. 

The decision will take effect since November 20, 2009.
