More material assistance to help the poor
VGP – According to the PM’s recently issued decision, the Government will continue to provide poor people of ethnic minorities with financial supports to help them promote production and improve their living standard.
Under the document, the
Government will donate VND 10 million to each household and the households can
acquire a maximum loan of VND 10 million more at the interest rate of zero for five
years long.
Households engaging in afforestation will be
provided with input materials and plant varieties -

The document also fixes the maximum proportions
of land for agriculture production and aquaculture.

Residents in the poorest districts (listed in the
Government’s Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP) will also be financed by the State
budget to pay for 50% of the interest rate of their loans taken from State-run commercial
banks for planting forests.
Besides, people in these districts will receive
financial assistance to follow training courses to change jobs or go abroad to
work.
The Government will help the poor ethnic minority
households to build cisterns or water wells.
The Decision took effect since October 12, 2009.
