Many projects will be put into operation to serve social security

After a year under construction, the Hố Quáng Phìn water reservoir in the mountainous province of Hà Giang was completed. The VND 3.5-billion reservoir will supply water to over 450 local households of more than 2,500 residents. This is the seventh of 30 similar works built in the mountainous region as directed by the PM.

The Department of Education and Training of Đồng Tháp Province has put 37 primary schools for disadvantaged children into operation in three districts of Tân Hồng, Tam Nông and Thanh Bình.  The projects were sponsored with VND 22.2 billion by the World Bank.

The Mỹ Tho City People’s Committee in Tiền Giang Province started the construction of first apartments for low-income people in the city. The work, poured with VND 65 billion, is scheduled to be finished in 2010.  It will provide accommodation to about 1,000 people.

An Giang Province decided to allocate VND 161.2 billion to finance a housing program for 9,400 poor households in rural areas in the period from 2009 to 2012.
