More than 33 million doses of vaccines allocated to localities nationwide

VGP – All 33.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines shipped to Viet Nam so far have been distributed to localities nationwhile, meeting 20 percent of the demand for the national vaccination plan, said the Ministry of Health.

Of the total, the ministry allocated more than 8.5 million doses to Ho Chi Minh City, 4.31 million doses to Ha Noi, and more than 2.1 million doses to Binh Duong. The vaccination rates in these localities are 80 percent, 82 percent, and 65 percent, respectively

At national level, more than 24.1 million doses have been administered, with nearly 3.6 million people aged above 18 having been fully vaccinated.

On Monday, the Ministry of Health urged Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Long An to speed up vaccine rollouts as they are among 10 localities with lowest vaccination rates compared to the vaccines available.

As of September 15, all adult populations in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An provinces must be vaccinated against Coronavirus with at least one shot, the ministry ordered.
