NA Chairman continues his visit in Laos

VNGOP – Within his official visit to Laos, National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng had separate meetings on April 23 with Lao General Secretary, State President Choummaly Sayasone and PM Bouasone Bouphavanh. He also visited and talked to the Lao National Institute for the Studies of Politics and Administration (NISPA) on April 24.

NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng meets General Secretary, State President Choummaly Sayasone and PM Bouasone Bouphavanh

In the meetings, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng congratulated Laos for its great achievements in all spheres of life over the past years. He also expressed his confidence that, under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will obtain bigger victories.

General Secretary, State President Choummaly Sayasone showed his pleasure at the good results of the talks between the legislative bodies of Laos and Vietnam. He stressed that Vietnamese NA Chairman's visit to Laos will help to greatly strengthen the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng and Lao PM Bouasone Bouphavanh mentioned solutions to boost trade and investment ties as well as cooperation in protecting the common borderline. They also exchanged views on the collaboration between the two countries in celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic tie and the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Agreement.

In the morning of April 24, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng and the senior NA delegation paid a visit to the Lao National Institute for the Studies of Politics and Administration (NISPA). Talking here, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng highly spoke of the effective cooperation between NISPA and Vietnam's Hồ Chí Minh National Institute of Politics and National Administration Institute, considering it a symbol of friendship, cooperation and development. He also delivered an important speech on socialist construction in Vietnam.

On the same day, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng received Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphaithoune, Governor of Vientiane. The Chairman expressed his hope that, in the time to come, Vientiane and Hanoi and other localities in Vietnam will deepen their cooperation in all fields, contributing to the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
