NA: Socio-economic achievements are comprehensive

VGP – Most of the NA deputies praised the Government’s efforts to drive the national economy to significant achievements amidst global fragile economic recovery.

The national economy is projected to grow at 6.7% this year

Deputy Võ Trọng Việt from Sơn La, the last speaker of the NA’s working session yesterday, summed up four main features of Việt Nam in 2010.

Firstly, Việt Nam is among countries that have created convenient and peaceful environment for its development and diplomatic expansion.

Secondly, Vietnamese people have strong belief in the Government’s leadership.

Thirdly, the national economy expanded quarter after quarter despite the global fragile economic recovery.

Fourthly, the Party, State and Government stood side by side with people, especially when they faced hard difficulties, including natural disasters and impacts of crisis.

Mr. Việt said that the above four features helped create an aggregate strength for the country gain continuous development and stability.

Việt Nam got rid of economic recession and its macro-economic indexes were secured. Inflation and overspending were put in control and export turnover surpassed the NA’s preset target, noted NA Deputy Nguyễn Lân Dũng from Đăk Lăk.

The GDP expanded at 5.32% in 2009 and is forecast to grow 6.7% in 2010 and even higher next year, recent statistics show.

Deputy Đồng Hữu Mạo from Thừa Thiên0Huế attributed the achievements to the Government’s flexible and sharp management and instruction.
