NA Standing Committee to open 24th session next week

VGP – The 12th National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) will convene its 24th sitting on September 29-October 3 to discuss five bills and reports on the implementation of some national key projects.

The 23rd working session of the NA Standing Committee closes in Hà Nội on September 18, 2009

The five bills are on telecommunication, radio frequency, the elderly, medical examination and treatment, and civil defense.

The UNSC will also focus some discussions on the amendment of the Education Law.

Besides the lawmaking activities, the Committee will hear reports on the implementation of the country’s key projects like Dung Quất Oil Refinery, Sơn La Hydro-Electric Power Plant, five-million-hectare afforestation, and the Hồ Chí Minh Highway.

The deputies will also discuss the construction of Lai Châu hydro-electric power plant and the legislative supervision plan 2009.

The Government’s reports on socio-economic situation and State budget in 2009 will also be placed on the table.

Noticeably, the lawmakers will voice ideas of the preparations for the next working session of the 12th NA, scheduled to take place next month.
