NA approves budget allocation plan for 2011

VGP – The National Assembly (NA) on November 15 in Hà Nội adopted a resolution for the central and local budget allocation plan for 2011.

The NA asked the Government to review regular spending in order to practice thrift, conduct important political tasks and ensure social security as well as salaries for civil servants.

The total central budget for 2011 will be VND 398,697 billion and local budget will receive VND 206,321 billion.

Under the budget allocation plan, VND 78,800 billion will be spent on development investment, VND 86,000 billion on debt payments, and VND 224,300 billion on socio-economic development, security and administrative management. 

Especially, the State will allocate VND 27,000 billion for the adjustment of salary for civil servants.

* Ratifying three bills

On the same day, with the majority of votes, NA deputies approved three bills on inspection (revised), civil servants, and environmental protection tax. 

The Inspection Law will take effect since July 1, 2011 and the Civil Servants Law will come into force on January 1, 2012.

The Environment Protection Tax Law will be valid on January 1, 2012, imposing five types of goods, namely oil and gas, coal, Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), plastic bags, and pesticides of restricted use./.
